Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries during 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This device really impressed lots of customers and hence, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, since the demand for work lifts and platforms grew. Over time, when the demand for new machinery to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing stick booms, telehandlers, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Due to the economic downturn during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their customers. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
The Bi-Energy and DC machines provided by Genie provide emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, like for instance within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the benefits of a 48V DC machine.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, compared to any of the different aerial platforms. These machinery are great for limited access areas or small areas in all types of environments. These machines provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
