JLG Telehandlers Prince Edward Island
After spending many years working together with his brother to establish their crane construction company into a leader of the business, John L. Grove chose to stop working. John and his wife Cora celebrated their retirement by setting out on a cross-country trip utilizing their R.V. After that specific trip, JLG Industries, Inc. emerged and became the world's top manufacturer of specialized material handling machinery and mobile aerial work platforms.
John spent much of the time during the R.V. journey talking to prior business associates that the Groves were visiting on their journey. When they visited the Hoover Dam, sadly, 2 employees were accidentally electrocuted on scaffolding. During following conversations, John saw a big untapped market for a machinery which can quickly and safely raise people into the air to be able to perform construction and maintenance functions.
After John and his wife returned from the journey, John decided to take action. He and two dear friends began a partnership and afterward purchased a small metal fabrication business in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. During the year 1970, with an original group of 20 staff, the trio built and sold the very first JLG aerial work platform. Many parts of the basic design elements of that original machine are still being incorporated into the present machines
Since John L. Grove first came back into town from his cross-country journey, the business has come a very long way. They have significantly grown since their first aerial work platform first debuted on the marketplace. Even these days, JLG continues to expand into additional worldwide markets.
