One of the biggest reasons is to avoid possibility of lawsuits if somebody is injured. Secondly, mishaps cut down on working time. Thirdly, property and merchandise could be damaged during mishaps. Nearly all accidents are attributed to staff who are not trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that all employees who are using the forklift are trained in risks and safety. Never let anybody on a forklift who isn't correctly trained to operate the forklift. Your business should develop and post in a location that is visible all forklift safety measures.
Workers must have a positive attitude when they go through training, rather than doing it just because they are required to. You as the employer should help workers know the significance of proper training. Let them understand that they can kill or injure not just themselves, but other individuals, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to ensure that all your staff undertake training seriously.
