The Combilift company was founded by two engineers, Martin McVicar and Robert Moffett. Between them, they had over four decades of experience in engineering when they founded the company in 1998 in Monaghan, Ireland. In only more than a decade, Combilift became a leader in the long handling market all over the world, providing machines to more than 50 markets worldwide. Supported by a trusted international network of distributors that have assisted expand distribution into numerous markets around the world and using their extensive knowledge and experience, Moffett and McVicar have created equipment which are in high demand and had sold 10,000 models by mid 2009.

C-Series Combilifts are available in an assortment of mast options. Lift heights as much as nine meters and lift capacities up to 25,000 kilograms are available. Available engines are in diesel, battery or electric and LPG or gas and the C-Series Combilifts can operate in guided aisles as narrow as 210 centimetres wide.
Combilift Straddle Carriers provide the ability to carry heavy, oversized cargo like fully loaded containers that weigh as much as 35 tons. These loads can be transported all over a work site or facility and the Combilift Straddle Carrier can lift fully loaded containers where required, whether it be from trailer to trailer, from the trailer to the ground or from the ground to the trailer. These types of machinery are an effective, cost effective solution for lots of shipping, haulage, and distribution businesses, even those with low throughput levels.
The SL-Series is much different compared to other side-loaders because of its ability to drive in four directions. This multi-directional steering is available with the cab on the left or on the right. This hydrostatic, all-wheel drive forklift can help companies in lots of ways, one of which is to allow facilities to have narrower aisles. It also allows the capability to bulk or block stack by driving forward.
